2026-07-24 Navigating Service Encounters

  • What we’ll do: We’ll take English out into the everyday — ordering at a café, asking for things in a shop, and settling up at the counter. We’ll practise the natural phrases a native speaker actually uses (not the stiff textbook ones), run some short shopper-and-clerk role-plays, and compare how these little transactions feel here in Japan versus overseas.
  • Key Phrases: Could I get…? / Does this come in…? / For here or to go? / Will that be all? / Can I pay by card?
  • What to bring: Just yourself — and one small real-life situation in mind: something you’ve wanted to order or buy in English but weren’t quite sure how to say.
  • See you Friday!
