By the end of the lesson, students will be able to analyze and discuss common misconceptions and unhelpful practices related to healthy aging. They will apply the concept of cognitive dissonance to recognize conflicting beliefs, values, or behaviors and propose strategies to align actions with healthy aging principles.

By the end of this lesson, students will be able to discuss and compare different cities based on various livability factors.

“Perfect” is a romantic ballad by English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. Released in 2017, the song expresses the singer’s immense love for his partner. With its sweet melody and heartfelt lyrics, “Perfect” became an international hit and wedding song staple. The single spent multiple weeks at number one on charts around the world.

In this classroom activity, students become time travelers with big ideas! Each group prepares a short presentation about their plan to change history for the betterment of many people. They have to share their pitch with “scouts” from a company that invented a time machine that can only be used once. They have to convince the scouts their idea for using the time machine is the best one. The scouts will listen carefully and ask questions.

This lesson explores the process and challenges of preparing for travel while learning new, relevant vocabulary.
