October 21, 2022: Adult Education

All of us from a very early age are told how to live our lives. We’re given stories about what the perfect life looks like and some of those stories work for some people some of the time but not all of us all of the time. There’s no checklist that each of us should tick off in order to live a perfect life.

In this classroom activity, students become time travelers with big ideas! Each group prepares a short presentation about their plan to change history for the betterment of many people. They have to share their pitch with “scouts” from a company that invented a time machine that can only be used once. They have to convince the scouts their idea for using the time machine is the best one. The scouts will listen carefully and ask questions.

What would you do? This week, we’ll practice our English by solving fun, everyday problems together. We will learn useful phrases for giving advice and work in groups to find the best solutions to some tricky social dilemmas. Come ready to share your wisdom and have a great conversation
